Outside Time Outdoor Clocks are specifically designed to provide weather protection for the quartz movement and battery compartment.   The materials used to manufacture the clocks have also been chosen to provide longer live in the outdoors.  

While clocks held indoors will last longer, Outside Time Clocks function very well under outdoor conditions as can be seen from the testing of the clocks in the following Spray Tank video:
